How will my son or daughter be evaluated in the Par Class?
They will be taught the basic fundamentals of golf, and they must pass a written quiz covering the basic rules and etiquette of the game. They will also be observed and evaluated on the course showing a basic competency of rules, etiquette, and conduct on the course.
Here are some examples of why your Junior may not pass if they do the following:
Standing to close to other players hitting
Walking ahead of other players who are hitting, and putting them self in danger
Swinging a club to close to other players or hitting balls at other kids intentionally
Not being aware of whose turn it is
Being Disruptive when others are playing
Placing their golf bag on the green
Failure to repair ball marks, divots, and rake the sand
What is my juniors next step if they do not pass the par class?
They may be required to retake the whole class or play 3 rounds with an adult golfer ensuring they are practicing proper golf etiquette, rules, and conduct while on the course.
If my junior has already taken lessons at another facility, how do they get into the program?
You have two options:
1. Have them register in the par class, this is a great refresher course for many juniors who haven't played or practiced since last season.
2. They can attempt to pass out of the par class criteria by signing up for one of the following dates and times (Friday, June 12th from 4:15-6:15 pm, or Friday, June 19th from 4:15-6:15 pm) The fee to take the test is $35.
